Bush Hits Record Disapproval Rating of 76%

When your ‘approval’ rating falls below 50% it becomes a disapproval rating:

Bush’s job approval rating fell to 24 percent from last month’s record low for a Zogby poll of 29 percent. A paltry 11 percent gave Congress a positive grade, tying last month’s record low.

The dismal assessment of the Republican president and the Democratic-controlled Congress follows another month of inconclusive political battles over a future path in Iraq and the recent Bush veto of an expansion of the program providing insurance for poor children.

By way of comparison – root canals, divorce, and cancer had higher approval ratings than Bush.

Seriously. You think this might be a strong enough hint that war with Iran, unchecked domestic spying, wholesale violation of the 4th amendment, and stripping of Habeas Corpus might be a bad idea?

Gadz leaving comments on a wordpress site is even more annoying than TypePad!

I’d like to think it’s a strong hint but, honestly, Bush & Cheney are still there. The pardons will flow like wine. All their corporate friends will keep laughing it up.

Unless a whole bunch of you guys grab your torches and pitchforks and descend on the white house for a lynching party I think the message here is:

“You can get away with anyway, go for it!”

But good luck next year anyway.

    Matt
