ZFS in Leopard!

Apparently, ZFS will become the default filesystem in Leopard.

In fact, this week you’ll see that Apple is announcing at their Worldwide Developer Conference that ZFS has become the file system in Mac OS 10.

Pretty interesting. ZFS is really close to XFS in performance. Seems about 15-20% slower though due to the extra data reliability insurance.

Though for some data loads ZFS with compression might be significantly faster. I need to look at this to see if it just compresses on the page level or if it can compress across a larger buffer.
