NPR’s Fresh Air on DNA Analysis Illuminates the History of Man

200705271637This episode of Fresh Air is extremely interesting:

The latest techniques in DNA analysis have opened a window on the history of human evolution. Nicholas Wade, a science reporter for The New York Times, chronicles this new avenue of science in his book Before the Dawn: Recovering the Lost History of Our Ancestors.

It’s interesting that they were able to recover mitocondrial DNA from Neanderthal skulls to prove that there was a divergent evolutionary path.

The commentary about how homosapiens partially caused the extinction of neanderthals is also interesting.

Hopefully this sill solve the problem of the conservatives and the religious right (joke!).
