40% of Republican Presidential Candidates do NOT believe in Evolution

Apparently, 40% of Republican Presidential candidates do NOT believe in evolution (quicktime).

Seriously.

200705041257

Here’s a top 10 list of other things they do NOT believe in:

10. The theory of gravity

9. The lost city of New Orleans (that whole thing was an urban legend)

8. The theory of a heliocentric universe

7. Reality

6. Accepting responsibility

5. Habeas corpus

4. Peace

3. The US Constitution

2. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures …

1. The Easter Bunny (ok. They got one right).

  1. Hell, Kevin, not all *scientists* agree on evolution. Next you’ll be complaining that they aren’t teaching global warming as fact in schools. Oh, that’s right they are.

  2. Adam.

The VAST majority of scientists agree on the majority of the theory of evolution.

While they might not agree on ALL facts most legitimate scientists agree that evolution is the only solid theory to explain the vast diversity of life on earth.

What we’re talking about here is people that don’t believe in the theory at ALL.

  3. Adam,

Care to name the ‘scientists’ that do not believe in evolution?

  4. Well, all scientists with a degree above a GED believe in evolution. Creationism is faith-based science. It works like this. God lays down the law “Man was created in God’s image” then the faith-based scientist finds evidence to support the law. Any evidence that contradicts the law is either wrong or spawned by Satan. BTW – I thought 1 – 5 were very funny. Good Blog.

  5. Who’s the fourth? I only see Brownback, Tancredo and Huckabee with their hands up…

  6. James Collins

Evolutionists BUILD us a living cell.

If evolutionists want to end the arguments all they need do is, get their brilliant heads together and assemble a ‘simple’ living cell. This should be possible, because today they certainly have a very great amount of knowledge about the contents of the so-called ‘simple’ cell.

After all, shouldn’t all the combined Intelligence of all the worlds scientist be able the do what chance encounters with random chemicals, without a set of instructions, accomplished about 4 billion years ago, ‘according to the evolutionists,’ and having no intelligence at all available to help them along in their quest to become a living entity. Surely the evolutionists scientists of today should be able to make us a ‘simple’ cell.

If it weren’t so pitiful it would be humorous, that intelligent people have swallowed the evolution mythology.

Beyond doubt, the main reason people believe in evolution is that sources they admire, say it is so. It would pay for these people to do a thorough examination of all the evidence CONTRARY to evolution that is readily available: Try answersingenesis.org. The evolutionists should honestly examine the SUPPOSED evidence ‘FOR’ evolution for THEMSELVES.

Build us a cell, from scratch, with the required raw material, that is with NO cell material, just the ‘raw’ stuff, and the argument is over. But if the scientists are unsuccessful, perhaps they should try Mother Earth’s recipe, you know, the one they claim worked the first time about 4 billion years ago, so they say. All they need to do is to gather all the chemicals that we know are essential for life, pour them into a large clay pot and stir vigorously for a few billion years, and Walla, LIFE!

Oh, you don’t believe the ‘original’ Mother Earth recipe will work? You are NOT alone, Neither do I, and MILLIONS of others!

  7. Well, if creationist want to prove that creationism is right all they need to do is get there God and have him come on down here and create a cell. And while he’s at it, I would like a brand new Dodge Charger. So that’s it one living and a Dodge Charger and some cash. okay? .. Hey wait .. why wait? I’ll do it right now. Oh God .. Jesus .. Mary .. Peter .. God of Moses and Ira .. God of the Jews, the Lutherans and the Ahmis (although you probably don’t get on the Internet) Please – as soon as possible come down here and grant me a single living cell and a Dodge Charge Daytona R/T with the almighty HEMI V8 perferably green, but that’s okay – any color will do. Please do this .. now … okay now … right now would good. okay I’m going to count to three then when I say that number then do it. One … Two … Three … Now.

Guess what .. it didn’t work .. guess we’re all on our own brother

  8. scientist

Actually scientists HAVE created the polio virus FROM SCRATCH. That’s right, using chemicals off the shelf, they created the entire DNA sequence necessary for polio to infect and replicate itself when introduced into a living cell. Is that proof enough or do you need us to make a chihuahua now from scratch? By the way, scientists have been creating new species of fruit flies under laboratory conditions for the last 100 years. Unfortunately the folks at answersingenesis only use the Bible when they consult the “recent literature” on the topic.

  9. Hey scientist…. I’ll see you and raise.

How about this? How many vaccines has God created? Last time I checked – none…

    What a jerk!

  10. PlagueWatcher

You know instead of arguing with the creationists, we, the member of the reality based community need to understand, that fundamentalist religion is a Communicable Mental Illness, a psychosis that casues the infected to ignore the facts of the physical world, while clingin on to these “belife systems” that are the source of bigotry, the cause of innumerable wars, and now a threat to the continued existance of all humanity. The form of the religion is unimportant islamic, christian, any of the forms that clain the whole truth. These Illness’s will not stop until they engulf every one possible. They want your mind, they want to hold the entire earht under control and to prevent any motion forward to a better future. They are slavers that will kill themselves and innocents. IKt is time we recognized this danger. It is time to act. How Can We Stop These Insane Zombie Worshipers?

  11. PlagueWatcher

gosh, I should edit my spelling berfore the post!

  12. PlagueWatcher,no amount of spelling error could take away from the clarity and canter of your post.Plus,it’s clear your sentiment was in a hurry to get out.I agree heartily with every word you wrote, even the misspelled.
The big question is,what do we do to slow the spread? I know of formerly reasonable minds, who, though troubled, functioned quite well until some emotional crisis lead them to rock bottom, only to find some vampiric creature waiting to take them to Jesus. My brother is such a one.I cannot recognize him anymore.I wait, hoping, that one day he will find some source of inner strength, and no longer require this. And I wouldn’t even have a problem with the religiosity if it didn’t harbor along with it this parasitic need to replicate itself. Also,I cannot comprehend the obvious contradictions, such as being both pro-life and pro-war/death penalty. Spouting Jesus’ words, yet acting Levitican.
I am incredulous when confronted with those who support Bush, who,as I understand, still visits Bohemian Grove and is a life member of Skull and Bones, two fairly unchristian groups.
These are very scary times, friend. And the tea leaves portend worse things are yet to come.
The question remains: how do we stop these albino shape-shifting lizard bitches?

  13. Mat

It’s just funny that creationists can’t even tell the difference between the theory of evolution and abiogenesis theory when they start arguing about this subject. If they actually presented an argument about the SUBJECT rather than some random tangent maybe people could at least start to take them seriously‚Ķ of course that would require a basic understanding of evolution, which is clearly lacking judging by their inability to tell the difference between evolution and abiogenesis.

  14. underdog

Ok. I think it would be good to clarify what we are arguing. First off is: Evolution vs. Creationism , and second is: Non-God vs. God. I would like to separate these because I think you can believe in a God and also believe in evolution. I, and others I imagine, consider evolution to be the way the Judeo-Christian God formed the earth. Even in the Bible it goes through evolution…first there was darkness, and then God made light…and then he separated the light from the darkness, and then land, and plants, and animals and humans… (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%201;&version=50;)

I think however what gets assumed when I say that I believe in evolution is that I believe we are just a random decedents of Monkey-Fish-Frogs (Southpark Reference), which is not true (obviously from that I just stated above). Correct me if I’m wrong, but to think that we were random (sorry if I’m not being PC with my terminology) would be considered a faith or belief, such as Darwinism, or any variation of. As even if evolution was/is/will be proven, I don’t think you can prove the “why” behind evolution. And to have an idea as to a “why” would be considered a religion (definition: a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe). At which case those of you who just made comments about those who have religion, in my eyes, aren’t considered any better. I would give you the credit of not forcing your beliefs onto others except that I think both parties are just as guilty, and will always be.

Whether you have religion or not, I think sharing your faith/beliefs/ideas is just as natural as sharing your favorite food restaurant with a friend. Its something you’ve experienced personally in your life that you want others to enjoy/experience as well. What is wrong are the people (on both sides) who don’t listen to each other and just throw out ultimatums to those who listen. It is definitely not the (real) Christian way as we are to be loving, patient, kind, good, gentle and have self-control (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians%205:16-23;&version=50;). Those people take opinions to be facts and don’t question/test/discern what they’ve been taught. Truth is found on the other end of an furnace.

  15. Kobe Song

Haha, “vast(?)majority of scientists agree on the majority of the theory of evolution.” ??? Please show me the solid evidence of the claim. Did the claim come from politicians who ,yeah right, really know vast number of scientists.

Let me tell you the truth…. most of the scientists who believe in God are too busy working or doing their researches and as a result, we don’t have much time for politic (which has been a mistake) or sometimes even to eat.

Nearly half of the member of my church are scientists. Both my pastor (an electrical Engr) and his wife hold a Phd in science. And when I went to college (a public university-not a private Christian U), all but one faculties in my department(chemistry) were christians. The best student in my physics class who convinced me (a non beliver at the time) that God played a very big role in his geniusness was, obviously, a Christian.

I’m tired of people who talk so big about things they understand so little. It’s worse when I hear people claim that all of us scientists are pro evolution and came from monkey. How about this …the “vast majority” of us are not happy being included as “all” scientists, we are just too busy to get involve.

  16. Kobe….

Are you saying that because you go to church therefore most scientists are theistic?

You say you’re a scientist but you don’t understand anecdotal evidence?
