Sad Milestone for Iraq

152 Shiite’s killed with 70 Sunni’s killed in retaliation:

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — Last week’s suicide truck bombing in the northern city of Tal Afar is the deadliest single attack since the beginning of the Iraq war in 2003, a high-ranking Iraqi Interior Ministry official said Monday as a new death toll for the blast surfaced.

The Wednesday attack — in which a truck packed with 4,000 pounds (1,814 kilograms) of explosives detonated in a Shiite area of the city — was initially blamed for 85 deaths, according to an Iraqi army officer in Tal Afar who estimated the death toll Thursday. Hundreds of others were wounded.

Of course if you’re John McCain you can easily go for a stroll throughout the city. Now all we need to do is buy every Iraqi citizen 100 Soldiers, 3 Blackhawks, and 2 Apache Gunships:

Sen. John McCain strolled briefly through an open-air market in Baghdad today in an effort to prove that Americans are “not getting the full picture” of what’s going on in Iraq.

NBC’s Nightly News provided further details about McCain’s one-hour guided tour. He was accompanied by “100 American soldiers, with three Blackhawk helicopters, and two Apache gunships overhead.” Still photographs provided by the military to NBC News seemed to show McCain wearing a bulletproof vest during his visit.

We’re just plain losing this war.
