Stupid Censorship Proxy at Metreon in San Francisco

Sony was nice enough to install an open Wifi access point in San Francisco’s Metreon. One downside is that they went and installed a HTTP proxy to prevent visiting “naughty” websites. Sure enough a visit to will result in the following error message:


Fair enough. Not many people need to visit playboy at the Metreon but I only realized they were using Websense when I tried to get to filmloop which they’re blocking as “Peer-to-Peer File Sharing”. Very strange!

Seems like BoingBoing has had similar issues.
